Prohibitory order in capital

KATHMANDU, Aug 18: Kathmandu District Security Committee(KDSC) has announced a prohibitory order in some sensitive areas of the district by keeping in view of security in the Capital. The order will be effective from Thursday.



Issuing a press release on Thursday, Chief District Officer (CDO), Laxmi Prasad Dhakal, said the prohibitory order was issued as per the Clause 6 (3) of the Local Administration Act. The release reads out the 50 meters left and right from the Office of the President and Vice-president´s Office were declared the prohibited areas.[break]



Similarly, Prime Minister´s Official Residence, Baluwatar, Maitighar Mandala to Southern Gate of the Singh Durbar, Padmodaya High School to Western Gate Singha Durbar, Singha Durbar Western Gate to Bhadrakali Temple and Ripumardini petrol pump areas were also declared the prohibited areas.



Likewise, New Baneshwor Chowk, surrounding of the Constituent Assembly (CA) Building, both sides of the Araniko Highway in Baneshwor area up to southern wall of the CA Building were also been declared the prohibited areas.



According to the notice, 50 meters along the road towards Shankhamul from New Baneshwor, 50 meters towards Maitighar Mandala from New Baneshwor, 50 meters away from the Western Gate of the CA Building to Hanumansthan have been declared the prohibited areas.
