Police arrests two looters

KATHMANDU, July 18: Police arrested two Indian nationals, who had gone to rob Dhaulagiri Jewelry Shop near Shiva Temple at Gongabu in Kathmandu from the incident site on Wednesday.



A police team led by Sub-Inspector Dirgha Bogati was able to arrest two of the three looters acting on a tip-off.[break]



According to Spokesperson at the Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka, Dhiraj Pratap Singh, the team was able to arrest the looters from the incident site though they had tried to run away opening one round of fire after they saw the police.



The arrestees are Ramesh Kumar Thakur and Ranjit Singh of Samastipur in India and now living in Gongabu.



Police recovered a pistol, a revolver and their four rounds of bullets each from them. Police said search for a looter, who was successful in escaping, is underway.
