MAKWANPUR, March 6: Police arrested 64-year-old Min Bahadur Blon and his 63-year-old wife, Devi Maya, from Aduwabari, Indra Sarovar Rural Municipality-3, Sisneri, on charges of murdering their son.

Authorities sent the couple to the District Police Office today while they were receiving treatment under police supervision. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shyamu Aryal stated that they would remain in custody for further investigation.

Police have accused Min Bahadur Blon and Devimaya Blon of beating their 31-year-old son, Bharat Kumar Blon, to death. A family dispute escalated into a physical altercation, injuring all three. Bharat Kumar sustained critical injuries and died at 3 PM on Friday while receiving treatment at Bharatpur Hospital.

Authorities transported the Blon couple to Bhaktapur Hospital for treatment. After receiving medical care under Bhaktapur police supervision, the officers brought them to Makwanpur on Wednesday, according to police spokesperson Aryal.

"The allegations suggest that the beating led to the death," Aryal stated. "We will first assess their health before proceeding with the investigation."

Police reported that the son and his parents frequently argued over property division. After noticing the altercation, neighbors alerted the Sisneri Area Police Office.

When officers arrived, they found Bharat Kumar unconscious and the Blon couple injured. Police transported them to Hetauda Hospital in a police vehicle for treatment on Thursday night.

Earlier, it was reported that the couple beat Bharat Kumar, believing him to be a thief. Bharat entered the house around 8 pm on Thursday wearing a mask. As soon as he entered, he threw chili powder at his parents, who were preparing to eat.

They stated that they did not recognize him as their son and mistook him for a thief, reacting defensively. They mentioned that they used whatever they found in the kitchen to hit him, and the masked person also attacked the elderly couple. During their statement, they told the police that a scuffle had occurred inside the house between the two parties.

Police started an investigation as it was suspicious that the parents mistakenly attacked their son without recognizing him.
