KATHMANDU, June 16: A total of 61,072 Nepalis seeking job opportunities abroad received work permits from the government last month.
As per the records with the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE), 53,698 men and 7,374 women took the government approval to work abroad during mid-May and mid-June. Compared to the previous month with 74,429 Nepalis taking the work permits, the number declined by 13,357 last month.

During the review month, a total of 8,179 people obtained work permits for Malaysia, the largest of all. Similarly, 5,394 people obtained work permits for the UAE, 2,883 for Qatar, 2,598 for Saudi Arabia, and 2,126 for Romania.
