JANAKPURDHAM, June 30: A motorcycle rider died and another was seriously injured after being struck by a tipper truck in Mahottari on Sunday evening.
According to District Police Office Spokesperson DSP Shailendra Bhatt, 17-year-old Nitish Bhagat of Loharpatti Municipality-1, Bagara, who was driving the motorcycle, succumbed to injuries during treatment at Bardibas Hospital.

Meanwhile, the pillion rider, 32-year-old Rupesh Bhagat of Bishwakarma Chowk, Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City-4, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital in Janakpurdham.
The accident occurred at around 7:30 PM on the Bardibas-Jaleshwar road section, near a place called Timkiya. A tipper (Province 2–03–001 Kha 1391), heading toward Jaleshwar, hit the motorcycle (J 11 Pa 6373) traveling in the same direction.
Police have taken the tipper driver, 46-year-old Santalal Majhi of Kamalamai Municipality, Sindhuli, into custody for further investigation.
