KATHMANDU, June 7: Nepal advanced to the final of the Asian Games Men’s Cricket Qualifier after securing a dominant eight-wicket victory over Oman in the semi-final played in Singapore.
Chasing a modest target of 95 runs, Nepal comfortably reached 96 for 2 in just 9.2 overs.

Lokesh Bam top-scored for Nepal with an unbeaten 44, while captain Rohit Paudel remained not out on 21. Earlier, Kushal Bhurtel contributed 20 runs and Aasif Sheikh added 1.
Oman, opting to bat first after winning the toss, were bowled out for 94 in 19.4 overs. Captain Sufyan Mehmood scored 38 runs, while Juber Ali Akbar made 22 and Abduljalil Khan added 16.
For Nepal, Karan KC led the bowling attack with three wickets. Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets each, while Shahab Alam, Kushal Malla, and Dipendra Singh Airee picked up one wicket apiece.
With this win, Nepal has secured a place in the final, where it will face the winner of the Hong Kong vs Malaysia match.
