Nepal accuses UCPN (Maoist) of pushing country towards crisis

BIRGUNJ, July 27: Senior Leader of the CPN (UML) Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused the incumbent government of increasing the risk of confrontation in the country.

Speaking at a press meet organized by the Press Chautari Nepal Parsa, Nepal alleged that the ruling party UCPN (Maoist) pushed the country to a crisis in a greed for state power. [break]

"The UCPN (Maoist) wants confrontation in the country and its recent extended meeting has proved it," he said.

Former Prime Minister Nepal claimed that the Maoists are guided by ultra-leftist and totalitarian thoughts and stressed that the incumbent government should be immediately replaced by a new one to safeguard nationality and democracy.

He urged all the Nepali and democratic forces to unite to replace the Maoist-led government and thereby end existing political and constitutional crisis in the country.Chapter Chairman Shyam Banjara presided over the program.
