KATHMANDU, Aug 6: Ncell has become the first telecom operator in Nepal to introduce Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) international roaming, setting a new benchmark in mobile connectivity for both outbound and inbound travelers, the company said in a press statement.
With this move, Ncell customers can now enjoy crystal-clear high-definition (HD) voice calls and high-speed data services while abroad—ensuring they remain Sadhain ON, no matter where they go.
According to Ncell, building on its earlier launch of inbound VoLTE roaming for international visitors to Nepal, it has now expanded its services to offer outbound VoLTE roaming as well. Starting Monday, customers traveling to India can access this advanced service via Ncell’s partnership with Airtel, one of India’s leading telecom providers.

VoLTE is a next-generation technology that enables superior-quality voice calls with faster connection times over a 4G network. The addition of VoLTE to Ncell’s international roaming portfolio significantly enhances the value of its existing roaming offers, providing users with an improved and more seamless experience.
This launch underscores Ncell’s continued commitment to delivering top-tier data and voice services to all its customers—whether they are traveling abroad or visiting Nepal from overseas, the press release further stated. The company is also in the process of testing outbound VoLTE roaming with major global telecom operators including Jio and Vodafone in India, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon in the United States, Softbank and NTT Docomo in Japan, China Mobile and China Unicom in China, and Bell and Telus in Canada.
For inbound roamers, Ncell currently provides VoLTE roaming services to customers from a growing list of international operators, including Airtel and Jio (India), China Mobile (China), Ooredoo (Kuwait), Mobily (Saudi Arabia), AT&T (USA), and Viettel (Vietnam). The expansion of its global roaming partnerships reflects Ncell’s focus on ensuring users can stay connected with loved ones and business partners effortlessly—wherever they are in the world.
