KATHMANDU, June 27: The Nepali Congress (NC) has obstructed the meeting of Legislature-Parliament on Monday as well. The main opposition party said it obstructed the House as the government has turned a deaf ear to their demands.

At the beginning of  today’s meeting, NC lawmaker Ram Sharan Mahat said that they won’t allow the House to run until the government commits to provide Rs 200,000 to earthquake victims in a lump sum.

Saying that donor agencies has provided aid to dole out Rs 200,000 to victims in four installments during the NC-led government, Mahat said that the government has continued the decision even one year after the quake.

After Mahat concluded his speech, all NC lawmakers stood from their seats obstructing the House.  Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar postponed the meeting after the lawmaker didn’t heed her repeated requests to take respective seats.

NC has been obstructing House since Friday.
