Nagarik Journo Paudel awarded with Investigative Journalism Award

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: Journalist Surendra Paudel, who is working with Republica´s sister publication, Nagarik Daily, has been awarded with Investigative Journalism Award 2012.



Paudel was awarded jointly by UK the Embassy in Kathmandu and Center for Investigative Journalism-Nepal along with two other journalists - Lok Mani Rai of Kantipur Daily and Ramesh Kumar of Himal Khabar Patrika. [break]



Charge D´ Affaires of UK Embassy in Kathmandu, Guy Harrison, handed over certificates to the journalists amidst a special function held at the embassy, Thursday afternoon.



Paudel was awarded for his investigative stories relating to trafficking of Nepalis youths by unscrupulous manpower agents. The UK embassy will take the award-winning journalists to London for a week in July and provide them a short-term training course in London.
