Maoist leader Sah resigns as CDC member

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: UCPN (Maoist) leader Prabhu Sah has resigned as the Constitution Draft Committee (CDC) member.

In his press statement issued today, Sah has expressed reservation on the constitution drafting process by the committee led by Nepali Congress leader Krishna Sitaula."The committee has been assigned to draft the constitution based on the consensus in the Constituent Assembly," the statement added, "However, the chairman has been carrying out the tasks by breaching the procedure and taking unilateral decisions."

Sah accused Chairman Sitaula of forming the taskforce as per his will and without informing the committee.
