Maoist leader gunned down

BIRGUNJ, Jan 23: An unidentified gang on Sunday afternoon shot dead UCPN (Maoist) Bhojpura State Committee member Ruksana Khatun, 40, at Saruatha VDC-9, Rautahat district.



According to District Police Office, Rautahat, the unidentified group shot him dead while he was working in his field at about 4 pm.



Rautahat District Police Chief Pitambar Adhikari said they have expedited search for the culprits involved. Maoist Bhojpura State Committee Secretary Anjana Bishankhe denounced the murder saying that it was a part of series of planned attack against Maoists.
