The English language has changed over the years too and the “gonna shonna wanna” seems to be the in thing. [break]
The singers are, hence, influencing the young ones and the dictionary is going haywire.
Whatever the case, music keeps flowing in and they are bought for entertainment and here are some songs released in the past two weeks on the station that hits you where it matters, Hits FM 91.2.
It’s almost the end of 2011, yet good songs just keep on rolling and that’s good news for you and for me.
The biggest collaboration ever and the best one, I must say, it’s the single “T.H.E” which stands for The Hardest Ever which comes courtesy Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.Am and it’s unbelievable to know who he’s featured for the track!! Hot Latino bombshell Jennifer Lopez and the Rolling Stones rocker Mick Jagger.
We’ve been learning to “Move like Jagger” but now we got to sing with him. The single was released during the American Music Awards this year. The performance was equally mesmerizing.

While BEP is going to go strong, another contender to hit the airwaves high is the band Mindless Behavior with “Girls Talkin’ Bout”. Back in the 90s when boy bands drove the world crazy, we could expect soft ballads and teeny pop fast numbers but things have certainly changed and boys these days make the kind of music which former members of the 90s groups make after they’re over their boy band phase.
Mindless Behavior, the American quartet has already released their debut album #1 “Girl” and its latest single is called “Girls’ Talkin Bout” which they recorded when they were all aged 13. Now that’s even a more surprising fact. Definitely worth listening to. Nothing like Backstreet boys!
Backstreet Boys brings me to the latest single by the Backstreet boy Howie D titled “Lie To Me”. Without a doubt, BSB are one of the boy bands that made most of the 90s teens go gaga over them. And although they weren’t able to retain their fame later on as a man band, the five are still big for their fans. If you happen to be one of them, do check it out!
Rihanna seems to be riding high everywhere in the world and here in Kathmandu too. She’s not hitting the clubs hard in KTM City but the city is falling in love with her music.
Her latest offering is called “You Da One” which is cut from her 6th album in seven years of her career-- “Talk That Talk”. In the single, RiRi conveys an entire young relationship’s worth of unassuming, and naïve sweetness. Cute song with good lyrics, but again the grammar is haywire but worth listening, definitely.
After “You Da One”, here’s another song where Rihanna has been featured in. She earlier teamed up with Drake for “What’s My Name?” and it was a huge hit. Now, the duo has come together once again for the Canadian rapper/singer’s latest single “Take Care”. How the song is going to turn out is yet to be seen.
Born in Los Angeles and raised in New York, two of the most happening places in the world, Andy Grammer can cover it all from reggae to acoustic, pop rock to soft rock.
The hunky singer impressed us with his debut single “Keep Your Head Up”, and hence, made it as our Pick of the Pack on Hits FM 912. And now he’s done it again with the latest effort from his self titled debut album “Fine By me”. The album is a fun up beat track that is sure to get you hooked to it!
Also, “Hey Soul Sister” hitmakers, Train is out with there new single titled “To Be Loved”. The single is not as catchy as there previous hit but its got a different ring to it and not a bad one at all. “To Be Loved” has been featured in the soundtrack of the new Taylor Lautner movie, “Abduction”.
Don’t be surprised if you get addicted to all the singles listed above because they are the most happening singles released on Hits FM 91.2. Don’t blame me if you’re neighbors are complaining. Read more about new hot single releases in the next two weeks!
