The NJA had received US$ 50,000 from IJF and US$ 10,000 from All Japan Judo Federation to support the players affected by the earthquake.Judo players Anisha Dangol of Nuwakot, Narayan Tamang of Rasuwa and Nilam Dangol of Nuwakot lost their lives in the earthquake that killed nearly 9,000 people throughout the country.
Minister for Youth and Sports Purushottam Paudel handed over checks to the family members of the deceased players.
Likewise, Rs 100,000 was also provided to Nuwakot Judo Dojo that was destroyed in the earthquake.
According to NJA President Deepak Harsha Bajracharaya, more relief packages were in the offing as the support provided to the deceased players' kins and for the reconstruction destroyed dojo was only the first-phase of the relief program the association will undertake.
