Irrigation office torched in Rajbiraj for defying banda

RAJBIRAJ, Aug 17: Cadres of Madheshi Front demanding scrapping of preliminary draft of the new constitution torched Koshi Pump Chandra Nagar Irrigation Division-2 office for defying shutdown on Monday.

Furniture and other properties at the office were reduced to ashes in the arson.


Soon after the incident, police, fire engine and employees of the office contained the fire.

General life in the district has been hit-hard following banda enforced by Madheshi Front, Tharu Kalyankari Sabha, and Nepal Sadhbhawana Party among others.
