The acting PM said economic advancement and development are at the center of everything and that they hold key to country´s progress, and reiterated that the government was doing all it could to restore peace and security in the industries.
During the interaction, entrepreneurs of the region vented ire at the government for not acquiring land for developing integrated customs terminal along the Bhediyari-Jogbani border. “Indian government has already acquired the land on its side for the purpose, whereas Nepal has done nothing in this regard so far,” they stated.
The customs is being developed with the financial assistance of India and the cost of the project is estimated to stand at Rs 2 billion. The two sides have already agreed upon the project, which will greatly facilitate bilateral trade.
Entrepreneurs also accused the government of apathy in declaring development of special economic zone (SEZ) in Biratnagar. They stated a detailed project report for constructing the SEZ has already been developed.
They also demanded the government to operate multi-fuel generator in Tanki Sinuwari in Biratnagar to address the power crisis of the industrial corridor.
