Indian PM Modi expresses grief over loss of lives in Nepal  due to floods and landslides

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and property in Nepal due to floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall.

In a message shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday afternoon, Modi stated that India stands with the people and government of Nepal during this difficult time.

As a friendly neighbor, India is ready to provide all necessary assistance to Nepal, Modi mentioned in his message.

"The loss of lives and property due to heavy rainfall in Nepal is deeply saddening. We stand with the people and Government of Nepal in this difficult time. As a friendly neighbor and the first responder, India is committed to providing any kind of support required," he said.

More than 37 people have lost their lives in Nepal due to floods and landslides following continuous rainfall since Friday night.
