KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Given the lessons learned during the past elections, the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) has stood against the deployment of the temporary security personnel for the forthcoming Constituent Assembly elections.

A meeting of the HLPC held on Wednesday has decided to this effect given the fact the fact that the temporary police will only create disputes and controversies rather than maintaining law and order during the elections, said Nepali Congress central committee member Arjun Narsing KC after the meeting. “The experiences show that the temporary security personnel were found to have been engaged in lobbying for a particular political party rather than discharging their assigned duties in the past elections,” said KC talking to Republica.
