KATHMANDU, June 24: The country is set for another spell of intense heat, with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) forecasting heatwave conditions in parts of the Tarai in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
Temperatures are also expected to climb in several areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, signaling hotter days ahead across much of the country.
According to the DHM, monsoon winds are currently active across Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati Provinces, as well as parts of Gandaki Province and the eastern Tarai of Lumbini Province.

Meanwhile, western and local wind systems continue to influence weather conditions in other regions of the country.
At present, Koshi Province remains generally cloudy, while hilly and mountainous regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim are witnessing partly cloudy conditions. Light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in parts of Koshi Province and at a few locations in Bagmati Province.
The DHM has also forecast moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, with isolated showers likely in other hilly regions.
Authorities have urged residents in areas at risk of heatwave, lightning, and rising temperatures to remain cautious and follow official weather advisories.
