The office of the district attorney, Morang had on Thursday filed an abduction and attempted murder case against Youth Force Morang in charge Parshuram Basnet and his two accomplices Koirala and Rai.[break]
Sixty-seven advocates have registered to plead on Dhakal´s behalf and 18 did so on Sunday. General Secretary of Nepal Bar Association Bijaya Mishra, Morang District Attorney Raj Kumar Koirala, assistant district attorney Punya Prasad Pathak, and advocates Sarbagya Ratna Tuladhar, Bishwa Raj Pandey, Din Mani Pokharel, Prakash Nath Uprety, Keshav Bhattarai, Jiveshwar Lake and Hem Raj Panta pleaded on Dhakal´s behalf. President of Morang Bar Devendra Koirala, Binaya Hari Dahal, Achal Rayamajhi, Bharat Bahadur Thapa, Purushottam Nepal, Pankaj Rai, Binaya Raj Pandey and Prakash Babu Panta also pleaded from Dhakal´s side.
Registrar at the district court Bhishma Raj Prasai said the hearing would continue for another two days. Lawyers for Biratnagar Youth Force President Rohit Koirala and member Rai will get their turn after the completion of pleading on Dhakal´s behalf. The statement of Koirala was taken on Friday while that of Rai was recorded Sunday.
The mastermind of the attack, Basnet, is still at large. The district court would issue an arrest warrant against Basnet after completion of the initial hearing on the arrested duo. The court will then issue a summons against Basnet to appear in the court within seven days if he is not arrested.
