DAMAULI, Dec 25: A key health center in Tanahun district has been reeling under medicine shortage for a long time. The District Ayurvedic Health Center, Damauli, has been without drugs for the past 16 months.

An official at the center, Keshav Raj Neupane, said they have received no supply of medicine since Bhadra 2065. "In the wake of medicine shortage, we are forced to send service-seekers empty-handed," he added.

The health authority has made its own effort to tide over the medicine crisis. "We are producing Churna, Setopaladi and some other ayurvedic medicines and providing them to patients," said Saroj Mishra, another official of the ayurvedic center, which receives a flow of around 40,000 patients in a year.
