Addressing a mass meeting organized in the Capital on Sunday, on the occasion of the International May Day, Gautam expressed confidence that the government will complete the peace and constitution writing processes. [break]
To end the criticism that the three major leaders of the communist parties could not conclude the peace and constitution writing processes, the Khanal-led government will take the peace process to its logical end within a few weeks and prepare the integrated draft of the constitution within May 28, said Gautam.
He expressed confidence that laborers, hard working and socialist Nepalis will get emancipation from all sorts of discrimination soon.
He also urged the laborers not to put forward their demands and organize strikes to hinder the government claiming that the present government was committed to ending the country’s transitional phase.
On the occasion, Minister for General Administration Yuva Raj Karki said he is committed to protecting the workers´ professional rights and resolve their problems from his ministerial capacity. He added that the government was working with firm determination to conclude the peace and constitution writing process.
UML leader Dr. Bijay Paudel urged the workers to exert pressure to the leaders of the parties concerned to conclude the statute writing in the stipulated timeframe of the Constituent Assembly.
Chairman of the organizing body Pramod Sharma stressed for amending Trade Union and Labour Act as per time, control the price hike and determine the salary and wages of the workers on the basis of the market price.
Earlier, a rally was organized from Babarmahal and was converted into an assembly after reaching New Baneshwor.
