Raj Paudel netted twice, including a penalty, for Gorkha Boys after Jaggunath Khadka had given the team a first-half lead. Manishwar Gamden had then scored the only goal for Dhankuta to level the scores at 1-1. [break]
Gorkha Boys bagged a purse of Rs 150,000 as the winner while and runner-up Dhankuta received Rs 100,000 along with trophies, medals and certificates.
Gorkha Boys took the lead in the 39th minute through Khadka but Gamden hit the equalizer for Dhankuta four minutes into the second half. Paudel restored Gorkha Boys´ lead through penalty in the 64th minute after he was brought down by a Dhankuta defender in the area. Paudel then sealed the victory in the 84th minute with his second goal of the match.
Khadka of Gorkha Boys was adjudged the man-of-the-match. Bartaman Rai of Dhankuta took the man-of-the-series award while Hemanta Gurung of ANFA Academy received the highest scorer award for his five goals in the tournament.
Gorkha Boys manager Santosh Gurung credit teamwork for his side´s maiden title. Meanwhile, Dhankuta manager Ashish Karmacharya attributed his side´s defeat to poor finishing. "Though we were backed by the supporters we lost due to poor finishing," he said.
