KATHMANDU, March 3: Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) has witnessed its highest passenger traffic in a single month since it commenced international flights last November.
In February, the GBIA handled a total of 6,779 passengers, with 115 flights arriving during the month. Flydubai served 2,403 passengers, Jazeera Airways catered to 3,265 passengers, and Thai AirAsia provided services to 1,097 passengers.
Furthermore, the GBIA also operated 13 chartered flights in February, carrying 211 foreign passengers. Thai AirAsia has been operating two weekly flights to Bhairahawa, while Jazeera Airways conducts three weekly flights. Flydubai operates a Dubai-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu-Dubai hop-on-hop-off flight.
In comparison, the GBIA served 4,279 passengers in November, 3,878 in December, and only 1,365 in January. This trend shows that GBIA enjoyed a considerable rise in its passenger traffic last month.
