KATHMANDU, Feb 3: The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MoEST) has warned educational consultancies not to engage in illegal activities. The MoEST issued the warning to some specific institutions that have been providing services outside the permitted areas or have been operating branches in locations where they do not have authorization. The ministry stated that such activities should be halted immediately.
The ministry warned them to operate services in accordance with the Educational Consultancy Services and Language Teaching Guidelines 2073.
Semantaraj Koirala, undersecretary at the MoEST, issued a notice stating that the ministry will take action if the institutions are found to have operated in violation of the guidelines.
The ministry also warned of revoking the license of the institutions as per Section 6 of the same guidelines if they are found violating the law.
The ministry issued the notice after receiving complaints that some of the institutions were opening branch offices in areas where they had not received permits, as well as providing services beyond the authorized locations.
