KATHMANDU, Feb 16: The death toll in a school bus accident reached four after one victim succumbed to injuries. The bus had met with an accident while returning from a picnic in Nagarkot.
Sunshine Tamang, a 10-year-old from Lisankhupakhar Rural Municipality-6, Sindhupalchok, who was currently residing in Boudha, succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Nepal Medicity Hospital. Earlier, the accident had already claimed the lives of two students and a teacher. The deceased were identified as 11-year-old Krishal Puri from Urlabari Municipality-7, Morang; 14-year-old Sushanka Dotel from Sindhupalchowk; and 24-year-old Suresh Tamang from Balefi Rural Municipality-7, Sindhupalchowk.
The accident occurred on February 13 when a school bus (Ba 2 Kha 7958) from SS Academy, carrying 46 passengers, met with an accident at Shankharapur Municipality-5 while returning from a picnic in Nagarkot.
A total of 32 passengers have been discharged after treatment, while 10 are still undergoing medical care. Among them, three are in critical condition, five are in moderate condition, and two have sustained minor injuries.
