CIB arrest two fake doctors

KATHMANDU, March 26: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested two persons who had been masquerading themselves as doctors.

Police arrested Rajib Kumar Jha of Matsari in Rautahat and Prithivi Narayan Yadav of Bahuwari in Bara from exam centre at the Nepal Army's Medical College at Sanobharyang in Kathmandu on Saturday.


They learnt to have studied MBBS in China and carried out six months long internship in Nepal using a fake certificate of their higher secondary level education.

Police nabbed them as they were taking exam for obtaining certificate from the Medical Council, according to Bureau's Superintendent of Police (SP) Diwas Lohani.

Arrested Jha is learnt to have failed the exam at the Medical Council for 12 times while Yadav for 13 times.

Earlier the Bureau already arrested 14 persons who were learnt to have completed their MBBS studies from various countries using fake academic certificates.
 
The arrested will be booked under the Nepal Medical Council Act, 2020 section 26 and 27, added SP Lohani. RSS
