Chinese delegation calls on PM

KATHMANDU, Aug 17: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal and Zhou Yongkang, head of the high-level Chinese delegation visiting Nepal, held talks at Kathmandu on Wednesday.



PM Khanal reiterated Nepal’s one-China policy and assured Zhou, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party that no anti-China activities will be permitted in Nepal.[break]



The PM also extended invitation to Chinese Premier Wen Jiaboa to visit Nepal at his earliest convenience and thanked Zhou for grant assistance, according to a release issued by Milan Raj Tuladhar, foreign affairs advisor to the PM.



Zhou hoped for a successful conclusion of transition period in Nepal, stressing the need for peace and stability for raising people’s standard of living and overall growth of the country.
