KATHMANDU, May 15: A Chinese delegation led by Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), Xiao Jie,who is visiting Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
During the meeting at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar, the Chinese delegation expressed their best wishes for the success of the upcoming Sagarmatha Sambaad, which is set to begin on Friday in Kathmandu.

They emphasized China’s readiness to further enhance the long-standing and friendly relations between the two countries. The delegation also conveyed China's leadership's good wishes for Nepal's development and prosperity, recalling the successful official visit of PM Oli to China in December.
PM Oli highlighted the long-standing, friendly, problem-free and cordial relations between Nepal and China. He expressed his satisfaction with China's rapid development in the fields of development and technology and its global impact.
Recalling the recent visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Nepal, PM Oli described the visit as multi-faceted and historic. He reiterated Nepal's full commitment to the "One China" policy and emphasized the need for all parties to take proactive steps for the implementation of the agreements and cooperation reached between the two countries.
During the meeting, PM's Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Chen Song, the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Krishna Prasad Oli, Ambassador of Nepal to the People's Republic of China, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and others were also present.
