Banke puts 10 past Chitwan

KATHMANDU, July 17: Banke thrashed Chitwan 10-1 in a first round match of the 14th Ncell National Women´s Football Championship on Tuesday while Rupandehi edged past Sunsari 1-0 and Dolakha registered a 2-0 victory over Bardiya.



Banke ran riot during the match held at Simara of Bara on the fourth day of the tournament as Laxmi Thapa and Nirmala Upadhyaya each scored a hat-trick for the winning side. [break]Thapa scored in the 25th, 49th and 79th minutes while Upadhyaya scored in the 38th, 80th and 83rd minutes of the game.



Sumitra Lamichhane scored two goals for Banke in the 45th and 86th minutes. Nun Khatri and Bhadra Kala BK added a goal each. Rojina Lama scored a consolation goal for Chitwan.







In the day´s early kick-off, a goal from Anjana Shrestha in the 84th minute of the game sealed an important victory for Rupandehi against Sunsari.



In another match held at Chandranigahapur, Rautahat, Kanchan Rana and Urusha Tamang scored a goal each in Dolakha´s 2-0 victory over Bardiya. Rana scored in the third minute of the game while Tamang scored in the 44th minute.



Dhanusha will face Panchthar at Chandranigahapur, while Kaski will play against Sarlahi at Simara in the next round on Wednesday.
