Acharya maintains lead

KATHMANDU, MARCH 18: Nepal´s top amateur golfer Rupak Acharya continued the five-stroke lead after the completion of third round of the Surya Nepal Central Open at the Gokarna Golf Course on Thursday.



Acharya maintained the card of three-under 69 in the third round for a total of five-under 211.



Pokhareli pro golfer Deepak Neupane, who also carded three-under 69, held the second position with a total of even-par 216. Two strokes adrift was RNGC pro Rabi Khadka at 218 after the third round score of one-under 71.



Both Neupane and Khadka were jointly in the second position after the second round.



Sumandra Giri continued his dream run as the Gokarna amateur carded two-over 74 to hold the fourth position at six-over 222.



Nepal Professional Golfers Association has organized the event -- sixth under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2009-10 -- under the sponsorship of Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. Out of the total cash prize of Rs 350,000, the winner of the main tournament will receive Rs 72,000.
