KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday nosedived 20.75 points to close at 2,642.15 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,662.9 points and spiked to day’s high at 2,665.82 points in the first one minute. The market remained almost stable for the next 25 minutes before heading to straight fall to reach day’s low at 2,637.01 points in the last 20 minutes. The market recovered around five points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
200 companies lose as NEPSE plummets 13.88 points
Two sectors including mutual funds and trading gained 0.48 points and 0.22 points, respectively. Of the 11 losers, the index of hotels and tourism fell by the largest of 86.75 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies decreased 2.99 points. The daily turnover increased to Rs 8.36 billion from Rs 7.94 billion.
Among the individual companies, 42 were gainers while 214 were recorded as losers. Ridi Power Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 533.61 million.
Super Mai Hydropower Limited was the topmost loser. Salapa Bikas Bank Limited gained the highest of 10 percent in its market value.
