KATHMANDU: At a time when the whole world has been battling hard to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has allocated a total of Rs six billion for the fight against the deadly virus.

KATHMANDU, May 28: The government is unveiling its budget for the next fiscal year 2020/21 later today. Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada is scheduled to present the budget -- the estimates of expenditures and revenues of the government -- at a joint meeting of the federal parliament at 4 PM today. The federal government is bound by the constitution to present its budget on Jestha 15 each year for the upcoming fiscal.

Chand outfit’s central leader Gajmer arrested

KAVREPALANCHOK, May 28: Police have arrested a central leader of the banned Netra Bikram Chand outfit, Lekhraj Gajmer.  He was taken into control by plainclothes police from Dhulikhel on Wednesday soon after his release from custody at the District Police Office, Dhulikhel. He was released by the District Police Office as per the Supreme Court's order.

President remits remaining prison term of 233 inmates
