KATHMANDU, June 9: The cadres of CPN-Maoist led by Netra Bikram Chand torched a taxi here in Koteshwar on Thursday morning. They set the taxi, Ba 1 Jha 8206, on fire the running taxi after spraying petrol minutes after they got in. They had hired it to go to Kalanki from Koteshwar.

KATHMANDU, June 9: The banda organizers have torched a taxi here in Koteshwore on Thursday morning. CPN-Maoists led by Netra Bikram Chand had called a nationwide banda (strike) today. According to SSP Sushil Bhandari, the assailants torched the taxi,Ba 1 Jha 8206, stopping it on mid-way minutes after they got in. They had hired it to go to Kalanki from Koteshwor.

"Gurung, suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and Parkinson's disease since long, was undergoing treatment at ICU and had been put on ventilator, and breathed his last at 2:37 am', said Public Relations Officer at Grande Hospital quoting Dr Chakraraj Pandey, involved in Gurung's treatment, as saying.
