KATHMANDU, June 2: Some 280 kilograms of marijuana has been seized from Belka Municipality-8, Sisauli Ghat, Udayapur. The Armed Police Force’s Security Base in Rampur discovered the contraband during a patrol around 7:00 in the morning.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shailendra Thapa, Co-Spokesperson for the Armed Police Force, acting on a special tip-off, the marijuana was found concealed in six sacks in the Sisauli Ghat forest.
Thapa further disclosed that two tubes and a small wheelbarrow were also uncovered alongside the cannabis, raising suspicions of an attempted smuggling operation via the Koshi River.
