Ministry of Agriculture invites applications for General Manager of DDC

KATHMANDU, April 17: In response to the ongoing challenges in market management, the government has initiated a search for a General Manager through an open competition for the Dairy Development Corporation (DDC), which has been experiencing sustained financial losses. For this, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development issued a notice on Wednesday, inviting applications from eligible candidates.

Applicants must meet the educational qualifications outlined in Section 3 (2) (c) of the Guidelines for the Appointment and Nomination of Officials of Public Bodies affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, 2076 BS (with amendments), and possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, as stipulated in the notice.

The aforementioned section reads, “Candidates for the role of chief executive must hold at least a master's degree from a recognized university in a field pertinent to the nature of the DDC's operations, or in administration, management, economics, or law, and possess a minimum of five years of managerial experience in an organization or entity.”

Applicants must be between 30 and 60 years of age as of the application deadline. The required documents include a copy of Nepali citizenship certificate, educational certificates, experience records, and personal details, along with an application/commitment letter as per Schedule 2 of the Recommendation Committee's Procedure, 2061 BS for the appointment of the DDC's General Manager.

Additionally, the candidates must submit a professional action plan, not exceeding 5,000 words, outlining the current status, challenges, and proposed improvements for the DDC. A sealed copy of the business plan in a separate envelope, along with a soft copy/pen drive, should also be submitted.

While presenting the professional action plan, the applicants are required to submit the electronic copy of the presentation within the designated time frame. Candidates employed in public bodies or government-run organizations at the federal, provincial, or local levels must provide approval/permission from the relevant authority while submitting their applications. The application fee is Rs 3,000.
