KATHMANDU, June 7: The Young Communist League (YCL) on Monday submitted a memorandum to Indian embassy in Kathmandu denouncing the recent ´killing´ 19 Nepali speakers in Meghalaya. In the memorandum, the YCL urged the Indian government to ensure safety and security of Nepali-speaking people there.

“When Nepalese people and Nepal tried to draw the attention of Indian government to these inhuman atrocities against Nepali-speakers, but the concerned side challenged Nepalese people not to interfere with the internal affairs of India. We denounce such an unscrupulous reaction from the Indian side,” the statement said.

The statement said India should immediately take steps to end this situation, maintain social harmony, provide compensation to the victims and medication to the injured and maimed and take stern action against the perpetrators of the killing.
