Yadav´s written request to the prime minister means that the later should not recognize an earlier recommendation from the party´s parliamentary leader Bijaya Gachchhadar to the prime minister. Earlier Gachchhadar had recommended his name as the leader of his party in the cabinet, with support from majority of lawmakers from the party and the party´s ten-member political committee.
Yadav also wrote to the prime minister that his party would not accept any recommendation [made by Gachchhadar] that is not officially endorsed by the party.
But Gachchhadar faction has continued to maintain that its recommendation to the prime minister as being official as it is supported by majority lawmakers and political committee members. He also demanded the prime minister to allocate five full ministers and four state ministers for his party.
UML fails to finalize ministers
In the meantime, a Standing Committee meeting of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) could not finalize the names of its ministers, said Shankar Pokharel, UML secretary.
