KATHMANDU, March 19: Women's cricket team of Nepal returned from Uganda after playing in the Women's Day T20 International Cricket Tournament. The team arrived on Wednesday morning.
Nepal struggled in the series, finishing fourth in the four-match series. The team won only 2 out of 7 games, defeating Uganda and Hong Kong in one match each.
Meanwhile, Nepal lost both matches to Namibia. The Nepali team struggled with batting throughout the series, failing to score even 100 runs in most games.
Captain Indu Berma acknowledged that while the team didn’t bring results, they played good cricket. She mentioned that she played very well herself, but the outcome was not favorable.
Speaking to reporters at the airport, she said that if they had played well from the beginning, they could have won, admitting that she made some mistakes as well.
"Overall, the competition went very well. It's just that we couldn’t deliver the desired result. We played very good cricket, but the outcome was not in our favor," she said. "If we had played well from the start, we might have won. Perhaps I also made some mistakes."
Similarly, Nepali women's cricket team coach Manoj Katwal said that small mistakes during the matches led to their defeats.
