Pavitra Damai, 45, is being meted out physical and mental torture by locals of Mulkhola 4 and 5, according to Purushottam Giri, a journalist based in Salyan. Villagers who had been regularly issuing threats to Damai reached her house Thursday morning and beat her up.
After the incident, she has taken refuge in a relative´s house, according to Durga B C, a local.
