UML Lalitpur candidates vow to regain lost ground

LALITPUR, Oct 4: The CPN-UML candidates, who are contesting the upcoming elections to the Constituent Assembly (CA) from Lalitpur district on friday vowed to restore its lost ground in the district.



Speaking at an interaction program organized by the district chapter of Press Chautari Nepal at Lalitpur today, they said they have launched their election campaigns in the district with concrete plans of economic development of the country along with peace, political stability and promulgation of constitution.[break]



The UML had lost the elections in the all the seats against the UCPN (Maoist) candidates in the last CA elections in the district which is previously considered as UML stronghold.



UML politburo member and candidate from constituency number-3 Raghuji Panta claimed that all the credits of the development efforts in the district goes to his party as it had played tremendous role in the development of various sectors including the education sectors.



Accusing the UCPN (Maoist) of securing victory in the last CA elections from the district due to threats and muscle power, he said that his party would not allow repeating the same anymore.



Madhusudan Paudel, UML candidate from constituency number-1, threatened to expose the corruptions and irregularities committed in various development projects by the UCPN (Maoist). He claimed that his party was strong in his constituency as it has successfully implemented deprived community and remote area centered programs.



Krishna Lal Maharjan, candidate from constituency number-2 accused Maoist of cheating people in the name of single identity based federalism in the last CA elections.



He added that his party has decided to go for multi-identity based federalism as per the wish of Nepal people. On the occasion, UML district election mobilization committee coordinator Madhav Paudel also addressed the program.
