KATHMANDU, March 16: The CPN-Maoist along with fringe parties are continuing their agitation on Sunday in protest of formation of election government under the leadership of Chief Justice (CJ) Khil Raj Regmi.

They are set to organize a corner assembly in front of the Constitution Assembly building, New Baneshwor starting from 4 pm today.

Before that a protest rally will be taken out from Babarmahal to New Baneshwor.

“We are holding today’s mass meeting to protest against the syndicate of the four parties and the government using an excessive force against our party cadres during Sunday’s program,” said, Maheshwor Dahal, a CPN-Maoist central committee member.

The CPN-Maoist has been holding agitation programs, including protest rallies, and burning the  effigies of the government head and the president in protest of four parties´ move to form a CJ-led election government.

On Saturday, CPN-Maoist cadres and police personnel clashed at Ratnapark after the Maoist cadres attempted to burn the effigies of President Dr Ram baran Yadav and the newly-appointed Chairman of the Interim Election Council of Ministers, Regmi.

Over a dozen people, including party central member Dinesh Sharma, were injured in the clash.
