Nuwakot police arrested Tamang after the victim’s father lodged a complaint against him. Another person Sompar Tamang accused in the case is on the run, police said.
A group of Maoist cadres led by former lawmaker Bimala Subedi have forcibly shut down transport in the district headquarters, Bidur. Subedi, also the party’s Nuwkot district coordinator, maintained that Tamang is framed in a false case.
