Two 'thieves' arrested

KATHMANDU, March 15: Police have arrested two persons allegedly involved in theft for a long time.



A special squad of Metropolitan Police Crime Divison, Hanumandhoka, arrested Sukra Ram Tamang aka Sukre on Thursday from Budhanilkantha while Rudra Narayan Shrestha aka Abhinash was arrested from Syuchatar on Wednesday. [break]



Tamang was reportedly inolved in over five thefts in the valley in 2011, police said. Tamang, 42, orginally from Dhading, is a resident of Swayambhu. He has been sent to Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj for futher invstigaiton.



Likewise Shrestha, 24, has been involved in five cases of theft in the valley. Shrestha is from Dolakha was given 19 months jail in 2009 in a theft case, police said.



Police have also confiscated 13.25 and 12.9 gram of brown heroine from Tamang and Shrestha respectively.
