Two Sports brief: NSC suspends NTA treasurer

KATHMANDU: National Sports Council (NSC) suspended treasurer of Nepal Taekwondo Association, Rabiraj Singh from the post on Friday. Singh, who faces allegations of involvement in smuggling of fake Indian currency, is currently in police custody. "Singh has been suspended until the investigation and legal processes are completed," said a press statement issued by NSC.



GoldenGate, Prime in quarters

KATHMANDU: GoldenGate and Prime College entered the quarterfinals of First University Basketball Championship on Friday. GoldenGate thrashed Kathmandu Engineering College 72-32 with 25 points from Bikash Dangol while Prime edged past Softwarica 64-47 riding on 28 points scored by Siddhartha Maharjan. Likewise, British Gurkha thumped Kantipur Engineering College 63-18 on Friday.
