Two killed in road mishap

PALPA, June 29: Two persons died in a truck accident, on the Palpa-Gulmi road near Jorte on Wednesday.



Driver Navaraj Ghalan from Makwanpur died on the spot after the truck fell 150 meters down. [break]



The truck conductor whose identity is not known yet was rescued alive but died after a while according to police.



It has been learnt that due to heavy rainfall, police were not able to reach the accident site on time.



The truck Na 2 Kha 8505, which fell down from the cliff while trying to give side to another truck coming from opposite side was only carrying two passengers.



Earlier according to eye witness Sushil Kunwar, the truck which was ferrying construction materials banged on a cliff.



"We are not able to see the truck number, we don’t even know how many passengers were in the truck," Kunwar said over the phone to Republica. He further added, "we have rescued one injured person and one corpse which was hanging on the cliff, police has not yet reached here."





After the accident, transportation which was obstructed in the Palpa-Gulmi road has resumed, informed Sub-Inspector Govinda Thapaliya.
