Anju Danuwar of Triyuga municipality-4 and Dhanu Shova Rai of Jhapa died when the truck (Na 3 Kha 6175) driven by helper lost control and hit locals.
Danuwar, 21, died on the spot while 53-year-old Rai, who had come to visit her daughter Samjhana, breathed her last at the Udayapur District Hospital, according to police inspector Kul Bahadur Chaudhary.
Rai,s daughter Samjhana, 31, is being treated at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences at critical condition. Irate locals set the truck on fire after they couldn´t find the driver.
Police have taken driver Saroj Chaudhary, who had fled the scene, and helper Arjun BK under control.
