Two injured, one critically, in youth clash

TEHRATHUM, Oct 19: Two persons sustained serious injuries in a clash between the youths of two villages here in the district on Friday night.



The injured are 22-year-old Mohan Limbu of Sudap VDC-1 and 35-year-old Bhim Prasad Limbu of Okhre VDC-8, said police.



Mohan, who sustained deep cuts to his head and face, have been taken to Siligudi of India for treatment, said police. [break]



Bhim Prasad is undergoing treatment at a local health post.



The clash between the two groups ensued after the youths of Sudap VDC-1 came all the way to Okhre VDC-8 and started attacking the villagers indiscriminately, according to the youths from Okhre.



“Two boys had a minor quarrel over personal issue while returning from a local weekly fair held in the district headquarters.



 A group of about 11youths from Sudap-1, came over to Okhare-based Dhan Prasad Limbu’s house where the clash between the irate groups took place,” said Police Inspector Kundan Dev.



Meanwhile the police have taken hold of five persons in connection with the incident. The arrested are Dhan Bahadur Limbu, 27, Bale Limbu, 23, Rabin Limbu, 25, of Okhre-8 and Ashok Limbu and Khadga Bahadur Limbu, 31, of Sudap-1, said Inspector Dev.



Further investigation is underway.
