Two electrocuted, 10 injured in Sindhupalchowk

SINDHUPALCHOWK, Aug 1: Two persons were electrocuted and at least 10 others of four different villages injured when high voltage current flew through a recently repaired electricity line on Sunday.



The electricity line in the remote mountainous Ghorthali VDC of the district had been repaired only a day ago after remaining out of order for 12 days.



Sindhupalchowk Police Chief Sthaneshwar Regmi confirmed the incident. Those dead in the incident are Sun Bahadur Tamang, 16, and Narayan Khatri, 50, of Ghorthali-4.



According to Regmi, high voltage current had passed through the electricity line of Ghorthali-4, 5, 6 and 8 at around 5 p.m.



Three people were critically injured in the incident. All the injured have been taken to the primary health center in Bahrabise, Regmi said.



A police team led by Inspector Heramba Sharma from Area Police Office, Bahrabise has reached the village.



Police said details were yet to arrive.
