Trinity clinch South Siders title

KATHMSNDU, May 15: Manoj Shercahn scored the highest 34 points as Trinity College beat Golden Gate College 97-82 to win the First South Siders Invitational Basketball Tournament held at Nakhipot, Lalitpur, on Friday. [break]



Trinity started aggressively and dominated Golden Gate from the very first quarter, which they won 22-17. By the first half, Trinity were 11 points ahead as the score board read 49-38. Trinity´s dominance in the match continued as it led 25-18 and 23-21 in the third and fourth quarters to wrap up the match 97-82.



Manoj Sherchan of Trinity was awarded the Most Valuable Player title whereas Darryl Wilson of Golden Gate was adjudged Best Defender of the tournament.
